Children’s Miracle Network Golf Challenge Press Release

The Children’s Miracle Network Golf Challenge

John MacArthur, a local golfer will attempt to play as many holes as possible in a benefit event to support the Children’s Miracle Network.  The event will take place at the Gunpowder Golf Club located at 14300 Old Gunpowder Road, Laurel, MD 20707  on July 13th, 2010. Gunpowder Golf Club is supporting this event by providing a golf cart and making sure other golfers on the course allow Mr. MacArthur to “play through” during his marathon.

Mr. MacArthur, a Realtor, will perform this challenge on the day after his 64th birthday, July 13th.  Sponsors have pledged .10 cents per hole completed. This is also a skill challenge and sponsors have agreed to increase the amount donated based on the score for each hole.  If Mr. MacArthur makes a score of par, the amount increases to .15 cents for that hole.  If Mr. MacArthur manages to score better than par, the amount of the donation will increase to .25 for that hole.  Mr. MacArthur will be clad in shorts, a golf shirt and a pair of Nike Flip Flops.

This event is the kick off of the Summer of Support for the Children’s Miracle Network.  ReMax Realty Centre, located in Olney, Maryland will be hosting a non-golfers night out at the Olney Golf Park in early October.  On October 3rd, the firm will be hosting a dinner and silent auction. On October 4th, the annual ReMax Children’s Miracle Network golf tournament will be held.

More information about the future events will be forthcoming later.
